Rideshare Driver Perspectives: The Interview Project
Your opinions matter
Starting this week Sam Driver will be visiting the BWI rideshare lot to interview other drivers. So what is all this about?
Sam Driver is the collective pen name we’re using online. Our goal is to get to know the rideshare driver community better. While it’s interesting to follow driver conversations on social media, there’s no substitute for talking to someone in person.
What we learn from you—the stories, tips, and tricks—will be turned into articles on this website. (Don’t worry, we won’t use your real identity!) As most people visiting this site already know, many passengers take us for granted. Some riders get in and out of the car without ever even acknowledging you or confirming their own name.
As a result, politicians don’t curry favor with us for the rideshare driver vote. Our elected representatives aren’t passing legislation to protect us from low pay and unfair deactivation from the apps. The companies keep changing the algorithm to control what we do. To change that, we’re going to need stories—a lot of stories.
So, if you came here after meeting us in person, welcome! If we didn’t get a chance to interview you yet, you can use the form below. For any other driver stopping by, please help us out by completing a virtual interview. Thank you!
